  • Describe the process at a high level with no more than 5-7 steps. There is no need for a lot of detail at this time. If you need to describe the process in more detail, use a process map.
  • Write the outputs of this process. These could be the key output indicators for the process. Some of these output measures could be the primary and secondary metrics for your project.
  • Identify the customers of those outputs. Who are the stakeholders who would be interested in and/or receive these outputs?
  • Write the inputs required to run the process. Some of these inputs may be controllable while others may not be controllable.
  • Identify the suppliers of those inputs. Note that the same stakeholders could be suppliers of inputs and receivers of outputs.
